There is so much pressure on us, at any given time. We are inundated with what other people are doing, what they’re accomplishing, and how fast it came about. We are constantly comparing ourselves with other people, whether they’re similar or not. It’s overwhelming. It’s tiring. It’s bullshit.

We are so immersed in other people’s lives, we can’t help but think we’re behind, or we should have more to show for ourselves than we do. No two people are the same. Some people have it easier than others. It’s not fair, but it’s the truth. No matter what we do, how we succeed or don’t succeed, this harsh reality will never change.

We are investing our energy in comparing ourselves and judging ourselves, and we’re avoiding the only thing that will help us succeed. Action. It really is a magic concept. The absolutely only way we can create a shift within our lives is to create action toward what we want or don’t want. If we are spending our energy comparing ourselves, judging ourselves, and feeling bad for ourselves, we will never advance past the point we’re at.

Action is the first step

When I refer to an action, I am referring to positive action. An action that is taken to better yourself, not to harm yourself or deter your advancement. Think about how you want to succeed. Maybe you want to write a book, start a business, or whatever it may be. Picture it in your mind. Imagine the steps it will take to get there. If it’s easier to trace the steps from the point of success back, do it that way. When you

We only have so much time in the day

When you think about your vision of success, there is absolutely no way you can achieve that level in one day. It takes steps, day by day to ignite change. When your achievement is broken down into steps, as yourself what step can be taken today. What can you do today to get one step closer to your version of success? The key to understanding at this point is the action needed is not always something that will directly help the achievement. What I mean is, sometimes the most appropriate actionable step is to rest. To focus on yourself and get your mind right. This intuitive self-exploration isn’t glamorized the same as other versions of success. This is why it’s so important to view others with an understanding that they are not telling the whole story. It’s impossible to know how someone got to where they are, just by what they share externally. The same goes for us when we are advancing in life. Sometimes it takes self-care and rest to rejuvenate, in order to be ready to take the step to achieve your goal.

Selling yourself short

It might feel like you haven’t gotten any closer to your goal in a while, and maybe that’s true because you haven’t taken any action. However, no action is telling. If you aren’t willing to work towards something, get your mind right, and be ready to accept success, do you really want it? Instead of focusing on what you don’t have, focus on what you do have, and what you have accomplished. It is not going to be the same as someone you follow, or a neighbor, but it’s yours. No matter how you look at it, it belongs to you. The individuality within that is powerful. It’s personal and it’s got the same amount of potential as anyone else. You just have to look at it that way.

Stop taking life so seriously. Remember that we are all different and we are all capable of amazing things. We just have to believe we are. We have to believe this so much that we’re willing to show up for ourselves to claim that success. To not be afraid to take up space, do the work, and become the best version of ourselves. Success without the willingness to work for it is a recipe for disaster. Without the foundation, it will falter.
